According to the PV InstallerMonitor© | EES InstallerMonitor© 2023/2024 survey by EUPD Research, procurement of PV components is primarily conducted through wholesalers, although distribution depths are changing. Comparing European countries and Australia, wholesalers remain the leading channels, and the direct purchase of modules is consistently higher than that of all components. High-installation countries have distribution rates that are partially twice the European average. For example, Germany has a module distribution rate of 39%, more than double the European average of 19%. Sun-rich countries, such as Spain and Portugal, show significantly lower figures in this area, with a share of about 10% for direct module procurement. Nonetheless, there is a general trend towards diversification of supply channels by installers, especially in the procurement of inverters, storage systems, and indirectly acquired PV modules.
